Educational Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must meet the educational requirements relevant to the apprentice category they are applying for:
Technician Apprentice (Diploma Level):
Three-year Diploma in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Instrumentation, Electronics, or related engineering disciplines
Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates)
Trade Apprentice (ITI):
Class 10 pass with a two-year ITI certificate
Trades include Fitter, Electrician, Machinist, Electronic Mechanic, and Instrument Mechanic
Graduate Apprentice:
Full-time graduation in BA, BCom, BSc, or BBA from a recognized university
Minimum 50% marks (45% for SC/ST/PwBD candidates)
Data Entry Operator (DEO):
Class 12 pass with at least 50% marks
Or Class 12 plus a valid Domestic Data Entry Operator skill certificate
Age Requirement
Minimum Age: 18 years
Maximum Age: 24 years (as on 31 December 2025)
Age Relaxation:
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC (Non-Creamy Layer): 3 years
Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD): 10 years
IOCL Apprentice Stipend Details
Selected apprentices will receive a monthly stipend as prescribed under the Apprentices Act and applicable government guidelines.
Stipend is paid monthly via direct bank transfer
No additional allowances such as HRA, DA, or TA are applicable
Apprentices receive a recognized training certificate from IOCL, which is beneficial for future employment opportunities in PSUs and other organizations
Selection Method
The selection process is completely merit-based and includes:
Preparation of a state-wise and discipline-wise merit list based on qualifying exam marks
Verification of original documents
Medical fitness assessment as per IOCL norms
No written examination or interview is conducted.
